This ministry is aimed at supporting parents raising children with disabilities. Pasture Valley provides a platform where the parents meet on a monthly basis and have the opportunity to share their stories, share their coping mechanisms as well as encourage one another. We also provide them with the opportunity to learn skills that will help them make some money e.g. soap making skills.
Caring for a child with a disability can be emotionally depleting and weakening at times, so these monthly meet-ups serve as a huge relief for these parents. On this day, the children get to visit the children's care home here at Pasture Valley, which gives their parents a day's break. Not only that, the parents also get pampered with manicure, pedicure etc, to acknowledge and applaud them for their resilience. The children receive disposables and physiotherapy while their parents go home with food parcels and seedlings as most of them are unemployed.
