Swaziland schools have opened again and 30 Pasture Valley children went off to a first day back at school in a new grade for 2013. For 4 of the children, it was their very first day at school in Grade 1 and they were all neatly dressed in bright blue uniforms for the big day. For another 2 of the older children, it was their first day in High School and they left with smiles too. Our eldest daughter headed to her first meeting with the driving instructor. She too is very excited about being able to drive one day.
Pasture Valley is bustling with getting text books covered and stationery ordered, school fees paid and outstanding school clothes orders collected. My phone is ringing off the hook with children that are supported at other orphanages and in the community that need their school fees paid and text books collected. This morning I was reminded of the song: “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of this earth will go strangely dim.. in the light of His glory and Grace” . In times like this when everything is so busy, it was important for me to realize that we need to turn to Jesus and rely on His strength and when we do this, the busyness and things that stress us out or trouble us are merely dim. Life’s School lesson number one: Turn to Jesus FIRST
